Hi Neil,
I remember first meeting Neil, The albums he had chosen to show us were unbelievable I wanted to be that bride in the photo!!!!
A few weeks before the wedding Neil contacted me to meet up at my Venue, it was a beautiful day, we walked around Arley Hall, into the gardens and through to the evening venue. Over looking the place I had fell in love with many years previous we discussed over a coffee my thoughts, feelings and the sort of pictures I wanted. Neil listened wrote a few notes...he knew exactly what I wanted!
On the morning of the wedding Neil arrived to take a few pictures of the preparations, it was a hectic morning but Neil took it all in his stride and went on his way to the venue.
On arrival at Arley Hall, he was the first person to greet me, I never will forget what he said to me at that moment, ’Wow, amazing...let’s go and get you married,’ with a beaming smile, enthusiasm was seeping through!!! During the afternoon I took a moment to get some fresh air, the weather had not been great and I felt disappointed that I may never get the pictures I had been dreaming of, Neil could see this and how overwhelmed I was, it had been none stop. He had an idea of a photograph that he thought I would love, he walked me to the original room I had got married in just a few hours before, it was empty, quiet but full of character, he asked me to face the window, looking out onto the gardens, he captured one of my favourite shots in a matter of seconds, that picture speaks a million words to me.
They were many others he so artistically captured in places and areas I had never thought could be so amazing, when I asked how can he remember all this, he smiled and pulled out a piece of paper, there was drawings, notes, ideas, all displayed through a story, that day he met me weeks before he really did listen, he had took the time and effort to make this, all my thoughts were in this story!!
Neil your work is breath taking, I couldn’t be happier with the photographs you captured of our special day and I cannot thank you enough. To any bride reading this, feeling like I did, how do you know who to choose...the answer is here.
‘A portrait is not made in the camera, but on either side of it.’
