LAKE DISTRICT WEDDING MAGIC

A year after the original wedding was planned, and a few lockdown changes to plans, Penny & David finally had the go ahead to tie the knot, and wow did they do it in style!

A small and intimate wedding was the fairytale story for the new Mr & Mrs Gilbertson. Here's a small sneak of their beautiful day:

FIRST LOOK

Penny and David chose to get married in the Lake District because they have spent so many happy times here, it made perfect sense for them to tie the knot at Low Wood Bay Hotel, a beautiful wedding venue nestled in the outskirts of Bowness and Windermere.

I always wonder if a groom will sneak a peek at his bride coming down the aisle, David could not resist. Seeing Penny in her stunning La Sposa dress being escorted by her father was something very special.

CONFETTI CANNONS!

Everyone loves a confetti moment, the confetti cannons were loud and unpredictable; pure beautiful madness!

LET’S DO THIS!

Low Wood Bay Hotel offers a beautiful venue to get married coupled with an amazing Lakeside location. Penny, David and their guests shared an intimate afternoon tea, followed by the perfect little adventure of a trip around the lake. The hotel supplied gorgeous giant balloons to celebrate with, one decided to take an early flight to the sky as the couple stepped onto the boat, hilarious!

With the sun out, drinks in hand and the sound of the waves lapping the shore, utter perfection!

The Lakeside setting at Windermere must be one of the best anywhere in the UK.

The couple and I managed to sneak off for a few shots, i love open water, it's is such a beautiful backdrop for any image, throw in a perfect Bride and Groom and magic!

THE END & THE BEGINNING

It was a fairy tale day with a modern twist of an ending - and I loved every second! Low Wood Bay Hotel has proved to be possibly one my favourite wedding venues in the Lake District and I’ll be back soon! If you’re planning your Lake District wedding, I’d love to hear from you!
