Lancashire Manor Wedding Photographer
It's not often I get the chance now to shoot a wedding on my doorstep, but when the call came through from Lisa, again by word of mouth, the journey began. The reception venue was Lancashire Manor , a very old coach house which in recent times has kind of grew into a lovely hotel in a great location, but to start off, they were to tie the knot in the heart of Ormskirk at a wonderful traditional church.
A very easy going wedding, not just because Lisa & Tom are two of the most easygoing and down to earth people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, but every little detail of this wedding was planned to the nth' degree. Nice to meet someone on my wavelength!
During reception is the time I usually get some of my favourite shots, but with the hotel being set in lovely countryside, we were spolit for choice for wedding photograph locations. Thanks to Malvern Cars for supplying what is my favourite wedding car in the NorthWest; the beautiful Silver Royale convertible. I see this car a few times a year and I think it always sits well on wedding photographs, any potential bride would be wise to check it out.
A day full of lovely highlights, apart from Lisa's glowing smile, without a doubt my favourite moments of the day was the speeches, her father brought Lisa's childhood teddy bears to the party and did she blush!
Wedding Reception, something a little different
As my clients know, I treat every wedding like a personal journey. The day before I drove along a country lane two minutes from the wedding reception and saw a farmer collection giant bales of hay in his field. I asked him could I stand a bride and groom on one of his bales tomorrow?, I'll never forget the look on his face: he thought I was mad!
After the wedding speeches I asked Tom and Lisa were they up for 10 minutes of fun before the evening light disappeared? With the couple sqeezed into my car, we briefly drove to this location whereby I asked them to climb onto the haystack. (cue crazy photographer looks again)
With the help of a chair borrowed from the hotel, one by one they climbed up for one of my favourite shots of the year. Not just an unusual shot, but seeing them giggle like naughty schoolkids on top of it was worth the effort alone.
Thanks for trusting me ;-)
An absolutely beautiful day for a gorgeous couple. Check out the final wedding photograph on the haystack, it's the last image here:
